Abstract Expressionism 2

Abstract Expressionism 2 is the second half of Tony Tyson’s second album, which was inspired by modern art paintings. Opener TFOTAG is a full force techno workout, characterised by a relentlessly rolling low end and ominous synths. Number 30 strays off the straight and narrow path with a frenetic kick drum rhythm and bendy lead melody which evoke the serpentine paint drippings of Jackson Pollock. Black Untitled conjures a heavier mood and is the album's final big dance floor oriented techno cut. 1950-E closes out the album with an ambient journey through found sound loops and spacious percussive elements.
